cakephp is still php.

try to use urlescape() or rawurlescape()

if you plan on passing a lot of those special characters you can also try to use base64encode and decode as the Search plugin does

My problem is that my parameters also happen to contain characters like '/'. Is there some sort of escape character to overcome this problem?
