[Google Maps API v2] not displaying maps in Distance Matrix API

hi ,
i am bit of a struggle at the movement, basically if you look a this link : https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/distancematrix/
google  says if you want to use the driving distance matrix api you will have to always display the maps in your site ,

but what happen if you don't really need to display the map ?  becasue our business purpose is different , and we don't need to display this map to the customers ?
could some one let me know is there any work around on this   ?
