[Rails] JOB - Ruby Developer, Portland, OR

This is a full time or part time contract/hourly-paid Software Developer
position located in Portland, Oregon paying $60.00 to $70.00 per hour
depending on experience. While mostly telecommuting is a possibility,
candidates willing to work on-site for the duration of the project
preferred. Applicants must reside within 50-miles of Portland to be
considered.

My Portland, OR client delivers design, development and launch-marketing
services for venture-backed startups. They help new companies get more
customers by creating beautiful, engaging experiences. They are
launching a mobile app that lets you discover music and videos around
you. They have moved past prototypes and are ready to develop a solid,
scalable product. They are looking for the right software developer to
make that happen.

The ideal candidate will hold a Computer Science or Engineering degree
and will:

* Have strong experience with Python and/or Ruby
* Evaluate overall system architecture: RESTful API, database, MQs, etc
* Design a system that can scale to millions of audio tracks and users,
including experience with load balancing and scalable network
topographies
* Develop a solution to consume real-time media (TV & Radio) streams
* Develop interfaces to iTunes, Apple Push Notification Service,
MediaNet, Tribune, and other third-party APIs
* Develop solutions including communications protocols that are
sensitive to mobile device battery consumption
