Ah, good old "works on my machine"(TM), right? ;-)

For what it's worth, if I set my Nexus 7 to MTP, "adb devices" lists
it like this:

???????????? no permissions

On PTP, it works just right. This is true for 4.1.1, 4.1.2 and 4.2.
