[android-developers] File transfer app

Hi all
        I am fairly new to android...so i need some guidance on my project to share any kind of file from one android device to other via ISP (like whatsapp).

For this app i need guidance on  ...1). How to connect the app to a server
2).how to fetch ip of the mobile devices devices
