Need help with $this->paginate() in controller

I need some help on implementing the below query for $this->paginate()


SELECT *
FROM `table1`
WHERE name like '%n3%' AND code NOT
IN (

SELECT code
FROM table2
)
UNION SELECT *
FROM table2
where name like '%n3%'


I want to get the paged resultset and count value also.
