[android-developers] Re: Retrieval of phone# inhibited by an app

Not sure this can be blocked as you suggest, i doubt it can... If it returns null, that's because the number is not listed. From my  experience, many SIM providers do not burn the number on the SIM so it is missing,

Only good way is to ask the user for the number and authenticate it.

Some users have installed a telephony app (magic jack) that inhibits the reporting
of the tel# - getLine1Number() reports null.

Any other way to retrieve the number?
