[Google Maps API v2] Google Map Legend

Can someone look at the map on my website (www.findalesson.net) and tell me how to do the following?
- Create a legend with the colored pins on it with a description of what they illustrate.
- Add a search box that users can search for their state,city, or zip code.
- When they search for their location, the map zooms in on that particular location AND the pins I have entered remain on the map.

I have little to zero knowledge to MAKING maps and writing codes, etc.  So, all of the help will be deeply appreciated!  Thanks in advance
