Though that device is only 1024x600 maybe Play sees it as an xlargeScreen.  I've found much of the recommendations and settings not to work as the docs advertise.  I would suggest creating a draft application so you can play with manifest settings to get a list of compatible devices.

I have not used this code in the manifest yet but doubt if the problem due to this.
