Do we need to setup Database Settings before Using Admin feature in Django?

Hello,

Can we use the built in ADMIN feature in Django by just configuring 'django.contrib.admin' under INSTALLED_APPS in settings.py file without configuring DATABASES settings ?

DATABASES = {

    'default': {

        'ENGINE': 'django.db.backends.sqlite3'

    }

or Is it required to configure DATABASES settings along with the admin settings in order to use the ADMIN feature of Django?
