You have to make that library GWT compatible. This basically means you have to create a GWT module yourself for that library and possibly emulate library code that GWT can not translate to JavaScript. Taken your code snippet above for example you would need to emulate CloneNotSupportedException if the LocalId object implements the clone() method.
