SVG image usage?

How can I include a SVG image in a ClientBundle?

In this forum post they include it as a DataResource, but I would like to use the svg image in my css through which I don't think is possible if it's a DataResource.

Example:  "gwt-image: "myImage" such that spriting occurs (if applicable for svg).

Or is there a more easy way to use the DataResource in my css that I am not seeing ?

Or might it be possible to add an ImageReader such that  it can handle SVG images?
