A better alternative to Gibbscam is Featurecam. Process based programming, like Gibbscam is, isn't as fast a Feature based programming is and never will be. Have you ever been open to trying alternatives like Featurcam... fuck no. Have you ever been open to CAM automation... fuck no. You claimed it was easier to enter tool info, etc. every fucking time you created a part program. It isn't and neither is all the repetitive shit you have to do in Process based CAM programming. You could never wrap your head around their being something very wrong with having to do repetitive and monotonous bullshit in CADCAM or that it equals really bad CADCAM program design.

There is a big price to pay for just accepting and making the best of what you have... your brain dies, you lose the ability to see what the big picture should be and your creativity suffers. You're not alone. If fact you're in very good company.

Tom,

I have to figure out what the expected shedding of a brush might be (for
a maintenance document).

It's a commercially available rotary scrubber 2" diameter, with 0.016"
nylon fill (no specs except diameter), fused tufts in a polypropylene
disc, each tuft about 0.875" long. So, pretty stiff.

They'll be rubbing on the surface of a 40-mesh stainless steel screen,
and the material being screened is not abrasive.

In the action of scrubbing on that screen, each bristle will deflect no
more than about 10 degrees from its attachment, and the brush will
oscillate slowly, so they will deflect both ways about 10 degrees. (at
the tip, bending uniformly over their length, I expect).

There's only enough pressure on the brush to ensure that it keeps the
holes in the screen clear of gummy stuff which blinds it rapidly -- maybe
as much as 8 ounces of down-pressure (but I think that's meaningless
unless you know how many bristles, how densely tufted, etc... and I don't
know those things).

We sized the screen openings so the bristles cannot fall through if they
shed, to keep lost filaments out of the product stream. Wear particles
are not a problem, even if they go through.

We have the option to "break them in" before installation, if that would
be wise.

I told the customer I guessed the filaments would wear out in length
before they began to shed; but I'd like to confirm, and figure out some
sort of estimation on their life or wear rate.

Clinton administration from 1996 through 2000. Then it fell off from

Bullshit. Government agents, favoring one class of citizens - the
unproductive parasite class - seize value from another class - the
producers - and give it to the parasites. That's not "giving to
ourselves" - *I* am not getting any benefit out of the "transaction."

There is no ethically valid rationale for government agents to take
value, by threat of force, from productive people in order to it to
deadbeats.

You can start with heat trace tape and insulation for safety - Or
convert the sprinkler system over to a Dry Standpipe system with
compressed air in the pipes and a little dedicated Wob-L-Piston
compressor, then all you have to worry about is the Fire Water risers
and the water charging valve, and water mains freezing on you.

But for the machines you want to keep them above the dew point, I'd
say 45 or 50F. As others have mentioned, that's not the safest
because you'll get cold spots.

Are you going to be there a while? Do you Own or only Rent?

If you answer Yes, we own and we don't plan to leave anytime soon, I'd
look into adding insulation. wherever it can be done economically and
easily. And not just the radiant foil sheeting, considering it's
manufacturing and needs to be easy to clean I'd look into Fiberglas
batts and something to mechanically hold it in place. You wouldn't
want to hang and maintain Drywall, and I've seen a web of baling wire
fail to hold it in place...

I'd think either 1/2" welded wire mesh or the diamond Chicken Wire,
and furring strips along the joists to hold it up. Or perhaps a full
pallet of the factory-primed Tempered Hardwood Pegboard so the
backside is primed, and you bomb the face side with an Airless and
some gloss white enamel when you get done hanging it.

And nail the sprinkler pipes with Red, Water with Blue, Gas with
Yellow, Compressed Air with Sky Blue, and the electrical conduits
with Orange or Smoke Grey while you're at it. The holes allow a bit
of ventilation to let moisture out (or the roof leak to drain through
to find it easier...) and you can poke through the holes to locate
the joists before screwing in new pipe hangers.

But I would think NO vapor barrier below the insulation (toward
occupied space) since there's no attic, on a flat roof you won't be
ventilating the space above it. But you'd better get a few more
opinions on that.

(Unless you start drilling holes in all the fireblocks and the eaves
and putting in the round Mini-Vents all over the place, leave a
ventilation gap above the batts, and rig something to ventilate out
at the ridge. Then you could put Tyvek Housewrap under the pegboard.)

And/Or you do the foam spray on roofing - that's insulation too.
