Generally in RF a transmitter at the same or near frequency will interfere with the receiver. The sharp filters needed to support near-frequency full duplex are large (resonant cavity filter). Most of the time you can fake it though, alternating sending and receiving with short time slices. Wifi, including wifi direct does just that. You can receive packets and send packets though strictly speaking not at the same time.
