Suggestions please for less crowded icons

Site under Development.

Trying to alleviate overcrowding of icons and on the link below. You
will see a red icon (hotels) covering too much of a golf ball icon
(golf clubs) behind it.
I did not quite get the need for shadow icons, so if that would help I
would be grateful on some info on how to set them to avoid
overcrowding as well please.
