Senior Developer W/Customer facing skills

Location : Schaumburg, IL

Duration : 4-6 Months

Rate       : Best

 

Client provides solutions that power the business of software for multiple customer segments, including hardware and software producers, engineers and developers, helping them uncover revenue opportunities, streamline their infrastructure and reduce costs. The company's proven solutions have been simplifying the business relationship between software and hardware producers and their enterprise and government customers for more than 20 years. Our client maximizes the value of the software the world develops and uses.

 

Position Overview:

Utilize latest Java and related technologies and libraries to design and implement highly scalable, clustered, multithreaded applications.

Participate in technical scoping discussions with customers to identify system complexity and estimate implementation costs and timeframes.

Conduct on-site and remote implementations of technologies, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Use C++, Java, J2EE and XML as required in areas of responsibility.  Travel to customer worksites is required

Exposure to a build tool such as Maven or equivalent

Participate in technical scoping discussions with customers to identify system complexity and estimate implementation costs and timeframes

Document and define best practices based on technologies and implementations

Complete appropriate technical documentation to provide clients with self-sufficient troubleshooting tools

Draft functional and technical specification documentation

Develop solution based on design documentation

Develop integration to other applications

Draft and execute test plans

Deploy solutions to production environments and provide post deployment support

 

 

Required Skills :

 

BA in Computer Science or equivalent career/experience degree

 

Significant previous experience with BitRock InstallBuilder, Installer VISE, install4j, IzPack, openInstaller, etc. SOLID Java installation or setup development experience.

Technical proficiency with Web Services (Java & .NET)

Familiarity with software Installation, Activation and Registration processes

Java development required

C, C++ experience preferred

Exposure to enterprise level applications

Engaged in integration projects

Proven experience engaging with external clients

Experience working with cross functional development and operations teams to implement complex business and technology solutions

Software industry experience within development or information technology functional areas

General RDBMS (SQL, Oracle, other) knowledge (experience designing database applications)

Experience with multiple web servers (or services such as WebLogic)

Experience drafting test plans and test scripts and executing or overseeing the tests at customer sites

Excellent communication skills

Ability and willingness to travel 75% of the time

Professional Services experience within a software firm or professional services firm

Experience with support, issue tracking and escalation procedures
