This isn't a map question, it's a DHTML question isn't it? You don't
change the map, surely -- you change wherever you are displaying the
cost. You can do that with an onchange event on your radio buttons
which call a handler function similar to the JS code you quote which
recalculates the cost and changes whichever element is displaying it.

If you are actually displaying the cost on the **map**, then post a
url so we can see how you're doing that and can advise accordingly.
