[android-developers] Re: gingerbread "sip demo"
Agree, that's been missing; I keep enjoying this on my Symbian devices
since 2006...
Once I get one of my Android devices upgraded to Gingerbread, I'll put
this on an Asterisk PBX I have sitting at home.
If you have the time and equipment, that IMHO would be the preferred
configuration, because you can aggregate multiple trunks (SIP and
POTS), implement selective call taking, record calls, accommodate
providers with exotic configuration needs that SIP clients oftentimes
do not support, and all sorts of other cool and disruptive things that
you're not supposed to have if the Telcos had their way. Speaking of
Telcos - just to entertain my curiosity before I can check it out
myself... Is the Gingerbread SIP client WiFi only, or can we put this
on a telco connection (i.e. 3G and "4G") as well?
