[Google Maps API v2] Integrate google maps into a search form

Hi,

I am very new to all of this, so please bare with me or send me in
some other direction please...

I want to integrate a google map into my database search form with the
map as the first step in the search.

The map will display preloaded markers (kml). When the user clicks on
a marker, I want this marker coordinates to be passed into the second
stage of the search form.

I can't seem to find any relevant examples to work from. Does anyone
know of some examples or tutorials I can view.
