[android-developers] Magnetic Sensor

Hello,

When I try to use magnetic sensor it need physical location to find the megnetic strength. But since it is going to measure the magnetic strength why does it need the physical location? Can anybody help me with this.

public GeomagneticField (float gdLatitudeDeg, float gdLongitudeDeg, float altitudeMeters, long timeMillis)
