[Google Maps API v2] Re: Charges for maps start tomorrow (10/1/2011)

What I want to know is what constitutes a limit?

Let's say I have a bunch of maps. Some in v2, some in v3, some on one domain, some on another, some done for customers using a key I created.

This isn't uncommon for an active developer. How are these maps going to be aggregated into a total that a charge will be calculated against?

I can't even remember how many maps I've created. It's probably on the order of 100 or more. Many I've created the key for out of my Google account. I don't have control or even a list of these as I've done them over a period of 6 years. Am I going to be charged for customer's usage just because they're still using a key I generated? Since I have no control over the use of that map now, nor can I disavow a key, I am potentially going to be in deep do-do.

Then there are my own maps which I do have control of, but still, there's no data on how these charges are going to be levied, nor a way I can say "I'd rather the map stops working then incur a charge."

Since originally there was no charge for use of the API and there was no discussions that there would be until just recently, I find it a bit uncomfortable to be in this situation. Granted, it is one of my own creation but still, to suddenly start racking up fairly significant daily charges that I can't stop will, let's say, be interesting.
