[Google Maps API v2] Problems with zoom and info window

Hello everyone and thanks for your help in advance. I am new to the
Google Map API and am building my first application. The example can
be seen at:

I am having a couple of problems:

1. the custom info window that the script generates displays outside
the view of the map. I am not sure how go about getting to display on
the map correctly.

2. The zoom for the map is set statically and will probably not be
correct for a route with longer directions. I am not exactly sure how
to set this value properly based on the length of the route.

3. The text of the info window sometimes goes beyond the boundaries
of the balloon. However, when the page is refreshed, it displays
properly. Not sure how to remedy this.

4. Finally, I amy need to get this page to display properly on a
mobile device, but I'm not sure where to start.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
