[android-developers] authenticating a google account

writing an app that will receive push notifications.

for that i need to get the user's google account name.

is there a way to get that w/o prompting the user - maybe
display a list of those entered on the phone.

i understand i have to prompt the user for the password.
or can i retrieve that also.

both these will be passed to a third-party server to
authenticate the user account.
