case-insensitive/case-preserving
and
case-sensitive

operating system.

Most UNIX/Linux variants tend to be the latter. The Mac may use a
modified file-system to inherit older insensitivity (to avoid confusing
users). I do know that, on Windows, "RollUp.xyz" and "Rollup.xyz" would
be the same file.
