Problems adding Click Handler to Grid

I am trying to add a Click Handler to a Grid object, but it never
fires.

tableData.addClickHandler(new ClickHandler()
{
public void onClick(ClickEvent event)
{
Window.alert("I am here");
}
});

Any ideas would be great.
