Hmm, maybe I should grow and change my beliefs, too. I can think that abortion
is OK but only for grown liberals who want to abort preborn humans.

The going in assumption would be that the new meters are wrong, and it would be
the utility's job to rebut this.

Machine tools of RCM size do not draw anything like what an electric stove
and/or water heater draws.

There is a class action suit over this mess in Dallas right now.
I'm in a small town north of there.

Are you sure about that, Joe.
I thought most of them were 220 to start with and pulled signifiant
power running.

You can safely assume that a horsepower equals only 746 watts. About half
what a small electric heater consumes.

Not really. Under full load, a typical RCM motor will pull 1500 watts
+/- But the only motors that pull that kind of power CONTINUOUSLY are
pumps and compressors. Table saw, drill press, mill, etc etc draw a lot
of power but the high loads are short and the use is intermittent.

In contrast, an electric dryer would pull 5kw for the entire dry cycle
and an A/c unit a similar amount for all the time the compressor is
running.

While running, and water heaters run more hours a day than a lathe or mill, and
don't draw anything like nameplate rating unless grunting.

Water heaters and stoves are also 220.

Make that "typical 1 HP" motor would draw 1500 watts.

We took two of those "smart" thermostats off our rentals because everyone
was having the things run 27/7, and the bills dropped by half or more. On,
off, temp setting. $20 per.

How nice. Even though thread drift has already occurred, it's intelligent

Sadly, my father is putting up for sale the project of his life. Its an RV-8
homebuilt airplane. About fifteen years ago, I visited my dad and seen a
pile of AL sheeting and extruded AL support stock for ribs etc. I spent two
days with him fabricating one side of the vertical fin on the tail. I
thought, "there ain't no way". Well, only 6000 logged hours of work later,
it flew. He went on to outfit it with every conceivable electronic

I visited a friend of mine who's the engineering manager for an aircraft
sheet metal company at Aurora airport (now _there's_ metalworking! They
repair aircraft and make parts for the Sikorsky S-64, which Sikorsky no
longer supports. They've been making sheet metal and structural parts
for years; they're just about to get some of the flying surfaces ATC'd
-- so they're doing some Really Serious work there. And it's a _little
place_).

You have to drive right by Van's on the way in, so I stopped by to see
if I could cadge a tour, or at least a peek at the production floor. I
couldn't, but the receptionist did inflict me on one of their sales guys
and him on me. We were obviously from different planets -- he couldn't
imagine anyone wanting to build model airplanes when they could just as
well build full scale, while any time I want to fly full scale I
contemplate how often I crash models and the urge passes.

They do cool stuff there, though.

My theory is this: they do jump on this. And then 5 minutes later they
forget all about it.

We are talking about people who want to pick up others trash and have
no money to begin with. Pretty much most people like that are complete
basket cases.

Did I have completely well adjusted, reilable people pick up stuff
advertised in free sections? Yes. Were those the majority? Not
really. Most were weirdos or flakes of one sort or another.

I put out 400 lbs of ferrous scrap on my curb yesterday, it was gone
in 1.5 hours.

You know, it is not like they defrauded me or anything. I would not
use word "integrity" in this context.

Is that a heated warehouse? Reason I ask is about this time of year the snow melts and
cold metal condenses a lot of water out of the air which causes rust.

Old news. Posted months ago.
In this state and many others if the building is not anchored to the ground
with a foundation or built on a slab it's not taxable. Around here most
homes
have separate storage buildings simply sitting on cement blocks.

Give that man a ceegar! WD40's most impressive feature is it's
marketing dept.

Geez - this thread has been about LPS-*2*, but I've been thinking
LPS-*3* (although LPS-3 has snuck in).

Anyhow, LPS-2 & PB-50 are primarily lubricants, that rust protect too,
according to their manufacturers.

LPS-3 is primarily a rust preventer. Blaster has a competitive product
(I think) called Corrosion Stop
http://www.pbblaster.com/Corrosion_Stop.html
Has anybody used this? Like PB-50, it is much cheaper than the LPS version.

Anyone else notice Chavez bears a striking resemblance to Mr. Potatohead?

I switched from IE7 to 8 recently. Computer was slow. Bumped up RAM to 2
GB, and hooey, what a difference. You might look at yours and consider this
inexpensive easy fix.

Did you ever try HSS? How did it work?

Thanks for proving that Palin and the whole NeoCon crowd are in fact
ultra-liberals. I've been saying that for nine years. But somehow,
little Cliffie wants to tell us she is a conservative.

Two parties, not a dimes worth of difference.
