Its a 1978 R90/6. I bought it with 35k on the odo in 1986..it now has
187k on the odometer..and its now just starting to use a little oil.
Original clutch, starter etc etc. It needs tires and a battery.
Shrug..when I get work regular again.

Ive ridden it to the East Coast, down into Mexico, Canada, all over the
West.
Ive pulled at least 10 Harleys into the nearst town with it as well.
<G>

They ARE a bit hard on clutch cables. So there are two (new) of them
laying along the frame under the tank. Shrug.

This topic has come up more than once. If one wants pure
metalworking..Pluaski (sp?) etc etc provide nearly 100% metal working.

For metalworking and talk between friends..its hard to beat this
newsgroup. Even with more than a few brain dead leftards <G>

I've got one of Harbor Freight's helmets.
I only weld periodically, so before using the helmet I let
it charge in the
sunlight for about 15 minutes as Gunner suggested.
I then test it by looking at a bare lightbulb, or a strong
sun reflection on
a metal surface.
Shade should dim...
If it dims, you're good to go...

Actually..many of their products are Quite Good. Some are even
outstanding. A few is junk, but most..most is good enough for weekend
workers. And their warranty is Excellent.

I give them a strong B+ for products/price.

An example...

Their 4" welding grinders cost $19 normally, $15 on sale. They last at
least 5 yrs. I have 4 of them that are at least that old ..and I use
them regularly.

A matching Makita, Millwaukee, Metabo etc etc start off at $65 and go to
$145. They work the same with plenty of horsepower, as the Makita etc
etc. I can buy 6 of them, for the price of one Metabo

And frankly..I can use 6 of them where one Metabo is simply not enough.

You will not go blind from it not darkening. Temporarily you will be
blinded due to the brightness, but the lens will still block the UV rays.
Which do the real damage. I would check the batteries. My Jackson helmet
would not turn on, and the batteries were dead or weak. It also charges
from the sun or welding, but I spent about $8 at Walmart for two more
batteries.

Though it is hypothetical, I think that no, it would not be able to
take over the US. With the ocean in between, and nuclear weapons, it
would not be realistic.

"Why is it wrong?" Amazing isn't it? No concept of morality or
principle, only atheism and a fear of raw power.

But, that explains why some believe that laws of prohibition are
necessary for their survival. No matter that career criminals are
sociopaths or impulse driven individuals with little regard for
social graces. If one law doesn't do it, pass another.

It also explains why Hawke, TMT and others are deathly afraid of
individualism and libertarianism. They can't tolerate freedom and
liberty. They must have a strong government to protect them.

Well, that would make sense, too. OK, let's set the bar real low and
see what happens.

If it was law that Congress had to READ bills, they would repeal that
law...after not reading it. Pelosi would tell them they had to pass it to
find out what was in it...again...still.

That was Elston McGowan, a Baptist minister, and his cronies. So you're

I did. Saturday it was raining and thundeery - my local logger
decided he wasn't climbing no trees in the wet. And that was before
the thunderstorm.
Sunday after the wedding, we topped the one remaining hazardous
tree. Almost went where intended - almost. But it did hit the
alternative target, so no damage done to the neighbor's shed. Now
I've all this slash to deal with. But this is so much fun...

Iranian cleric: Promiscuous women cause quakes
By SCHEHEREZADE FARAMARZI, Associated Press Writer Scheherezade
Faramarzi, Associated Press Writer

BEIRUT – A senior Iranian cleric says women who wear immodest clothing
and behave promiscuously are to blame for earthquakes.

Iran is one of the world's most earthquake-prone countries, and the
cleric's unusual explanation for why the earth shakes follows a
prediction by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that a quake is certain to
hit Tehran and that many of its 12 million inhabitants should
relocate.

"Many women who do not dress modestly ... lead young men astray,
corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which
(consequently) increases earthquakes," Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi was
quoted as saying by Iranian media. Sedighi is Tehran's acting Friday
prayer leader.

Women in the Islamic Republic are required by law to cover from head
to toe, but many, especially the young, ignore some of the more strict
codes and wear tight coats and scarves pulled back that show much of
the hair.

"What can we do to avoid being buried under the rubble?" Sedighi asked
during a prayer sermon Friday. "There is no other solution but to take
refuge in religion and to adapt our lives to Islam's moral codes."

Seismologists have warned for at least two decades that it is likely
the sprawling capital will be struck by a catastrophic quake in the
near future.

Some experts have even suggested Iran should move its capital to a
less seismically active location. Tehran straddles scores of fault
lines, including one more than 50 miles (80 kilometers) long, though
it has not suffered a major quake since 1830.

In 2003, a powerful earthquake hit the southern city of Bam, killing
31,000 people — about a quarter of that city's population — and
destroying its ancient mud-built citadel.

"A divine authority told me to tell the people to make a general
repentance. Why? Because calamities threaten us," Sedighi said.

Referring to the violence that followed last June's disputed
presidential election, he said, "The political earthquake that
occurred was a reaction to some of the actions (that took place). And
now, if a natural earthquake hits Tehran, no one will be able to
confront such a calamity but God's power, only God's power. ... So
let's not disappoint God."

The Iranian government and its security forces have been locked in a
bloody battle with a large opposition movement that accuses
Ahmadinejad of winning last year's vote by fraud.

Ahmadinejad made his quake prediction two weeks ago but said he could
not give an exact date. He acknowledged that he could not order all of
Tehran's 12 million people to evacuate. "But provisions have to be
made. ... At least 5 million should leave Tehran so it is less
crowded," the president said.

Minister of Welfare and Social Security Sadeq Mahsooli said prayers
and pleas for forgiveness were the best "formulas to repel
earthquakes."

"We cannot invent a system that prevents earthquakes, but God has
created this system and that is to avoid sins, to pray, to seek
forgiveness, pay alms and self-sacrifice," Mahsooli said.

And these are the factories that are monitored.

China factories break labor rules
By WILLIAM FOREMAN, Associated Press Writer William Foreman,
Associated Press Writer
Mon Apr 19, 7:10 am ET

GUANGZHOU, China – Two factories that make Microsoft Corp. products in
southern China violated overtime regulations and failed to properly
register the use of workers aged 16 to 18, officials said Monday.

The problems at the plants in the city of Dongguan were initially
raised last week by the National Labor Committee, a New York-based
nonprofit that monitors the treatment of foreign workers by U.S.
companies. The group alleged that the teen laborers worked long shifts
and were not allowed to use bathrooms during working hours at the
plants, owned by Taiwan-based KYE Systems Corp.

The factories make Webcams, computer mice and Xbox controllers for
Microsoft, the world's biggest software company.

Investigators with Dongguan's human resources bureau said in a report
that factories are allowed to hire workers between the ages of 16 and
18 as long as the laborers are registered with the authorities. The
KYE factories had 385 such workers — most supplied by vocational
schools — and 326 weren't properly registered, the report said.

Employees were also forced to work an excessive amount of overtime in
March, clocking about 280 hours, the report said. Copies of the labor
contract also weren't given to employees, the document said.

But officials said that based on interviews with workers, there were
no restrictions against using the restroom during shifts. The report
said the company's policy was to give workers 10-minute breaks for
every two hours worked.

KYE Systems Corp. spokesman Lai Jin-hui told The Associated Press,
"Assembly line workers are allowed to go to bathroom only if they
report the need."

Lai insisted that factories did nothing wrong regarding overtime and
had followed regulations that limit the workweek to 60 hours. But Lai
acknowledged that the factories failed to properly register workers
and would now fix the problem.

The human resources bureau report said the factories have been ordered
to comply with the law and would be monitored closely.

Last week, Microsoft said it does quarterly onsite assessments and
gets weekly reports from KYE about certain labor and safety criteria.
The software maker said a team of independent auditors would visit the
factories and monitor the situation pending results of its inspection.

TMT is simply a mental runt. Worst of the litter.

He should have been put down at birth. While it may not have increased
the value of the litter..it would have been kinder to society as a
whole.

9 A? What voltage? In the US, a 240 V 3-phase motor draws roughly 3 A
per HP. So, I'd expect a 7.5 Hp 3-phase motor to draw roughly 22 A per
line on 240 V. Ohhh, pressure washer -- must be some of those inflated
HP readings. So, it probably is really a 3 Hp motor.
