Hi,

I have 3 column + 10 rows in celltable.
value1Column, value2Column, RecordState

Whenever user changes values either value1 or value2 then immediately cell related to that record set to * in RecordState column.

How to set * in RecordState column on  value changes?

How to use setFieldUpdater to update values in column ?

Subscriptions

There's a few Paypal plugins available out there that I'll get into
when I begin coding. Those seem to handle taking the initial payment,
and communicating with PayPal to ensure that the payment was
successful or a failure for whatever reason.

That's fine, for a one time payment - but how would a subscription
plan work?

User buys a 30 day subscription and the software updates to allow the
user access to features for 30 days. At the end of that 30 days, how
would the program check with PayPal to ensure that the subscription is
still valid? How would we tell the system that the user has cancelled
their subscription through the PayPal website?

[android-developers] Ringtone and TTS

Hi,

I´m developing an application that should read the contact name.
I already created the BroadcastReceiver to receive the incoming phone
call, and already created the service that 'speak' the contact name
(using TTS).

But I´m getting an issue that I have no idea how to fix it. When the
phone ring, the ringtone start to play and I cannot hear the contact
name... (I can see by the logs that it is speaking it...). But if I
silent the ringtone (for example, pressing volume down), I start to
hear my service running (it reads the name).

It seems that ringtone is not allowing TTS to speak the name together
(as ringtone is only one allowed sound at this moment).

Do you know a way to fix this? Or have both sound coming out from the
speaker at same time ?

both will work exactly the same WITHIN the controller
you may leave it out in this case.
its always good practice to specify the controller, as well, though.

but if you are outside of this controller you MUST specify it
so better include it everywhere. especially if you move code around
(copy and paste)
or if you make it an element (which could be included in any other
view/controller/layout.

so better safe than sry :)

[Rails] Migration reports success but did not do anything

I observed this a few times, but not always happen, and if I down the
migration and run again, it often works.

My migration is really simple like:

Foo.find_each do |foo|
foo.update_attribute(:bar, "baz")
end

Occasionally, it reports success, but not actually updated the
attribute for the "bar" column of Foo object. It appears to just skip
the whole thing and report success. And as I said, if I down it and
run again, it has always worked.

Anybody else has seen this problem before? I'm using Rails 3.0.10 but
I had this problem with older 3.0.x versions as well.

What on earth has Java/.NET/PHP to do with connecting a web app with a
database on the client machine?

Have you ever thought about firewalls?, NAT? Port Forwarding?
Saying this is possible for all those platforms smells like trolling.
Please invest your time in more productive stuff.
Research first, then ask in a Forum/mailing list.

Neil,

This list is not for sharing of stories of Android users.

Applications consume memory.

SD card is a storage where the app got saved, not where it runs. When
you open it, OS loads it to main memory (RAM) in order to execute it
and that is where your warnings come from.

I think you need to add the gwt-servlet-deps to the class path. right click on gwt-servlet-deps.jar and add to buildpath. I'm pretty sure that's where the json classes where.

[android-developers] Instrumentation: can this mechanism be used for something else than testing ?

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to use (without success) the instrumentation mechanism to
intercept events for a subset of views (for instance, when the end
user clicks on any button) but without luck.

I'm starting to wonder if it is possible to use instrumentation to
intercept events of methods from views ( for instance Buttons ).

The use case I'm trying to solve is gather statistics from a subset of
events from a subset of views without overriding each method of each
button in the application.

Does anybody knows if this is possible ?

[android-developers] What coding languages do I need to know to develop an android app?

Hi I was wondering what the main programming languages used in andriod
app development are. I know a little c++ and javascript. I'd like to
make an app that uses data from AdGenesis. The app would reward people
for watching targeted ads with points redeemable for ipods and such.
How much would it cost to have an Android developer make the app for
me?

The second is over the first.

if the model cache is renewed everything is fine
but as soon as cake uses the model cache the table prefix is lost and
causes sql errors

Re: Drag & drop

Strongly second "gwt-dnd". Its excelent, very very flexible and works
well.

I have worked on two rather massive projects which used it for a
(game) inventory system and it really saved a lot of work. We even
have used it to have dragging and dropping accross multiple
inventorys.

Not sure exactly why it isnt built into GWT, but its certainly no pain
to use.
Just be very sure to track your drophandlers and be sure to unattach
them correctly when they arnt attached to the page anymore.

but the indentation error seems to be in the django source code?

GWT Celltable: How to apply mouse enter event in celltable's cell

Hi,
How to apply mouse enter event in celltables cell.

If Mouse enter in cell for record edition then I want to set string to Record State column that record is edited "Record modify"
On Mouse enter I will check cellvalaue is not equal old value then I will set "Record modify" value to related record for State column other wise empty.

Is it possible to apply Mouse enter event in setFieldUpdater() of column?
Or How to apply OnBrowseEvent on cell ?

that was my original structure - but there was too much code required,
and after several years of using it, I still found difficulty in
understanding and upgrading it. The present structure is simple and
flexible - the only downside is that I have write some extra html.
Anyway it is just one template and I suppose I have to live with it.

django ajax select

Thank you for your reply.
I am really facing this issue.
When I turn off the Network (WiFi and/or cell network), the app cannot
obtain (GPS / A-GPS) position.
Then I turn the network on, it can get the (GPS / A-GPS) position
successfully.
What's wrong?

It doesn't get installed at all.
I don't know why, since in another project with the same ruby version
(1.9.3-rc1 until today) it is working.
"gem list rspec" does not show any gem listed, and "bundle | grep
rspec" gives nothing.

I tried it too, I removed the gemset, then created a new empty one and
ran "bundle install". I've even installed ruby 1.9.3-p0 today, started
a new gemset from scratch and I had the same behavior.

I'm using Arch Linux. rvm 1.9.1, ruby 1.9.3-p0

It looks like something is wrong with this specific project, but I
can't tell what it is.
I really don't know either what I can do to fix it. I can't just re
create it, since I already have a lot of work done.

Cached Forms Don't Submit

I have setup the index and edit actions to be cached in my
PostsController as follows:

var $cacheAction = array(
'index' => array('callbacks' => true, 'duration' => '7 days'),
'edit' => array('callbacks' => true, 'duration' => '7 days'),
);

Everything is cached as expected, but the edit form doesn't submit.
This is expected as well, if you think about it, but is there anyway
to bypass caching when a user submits a form?

I set callbacks to true to allow AuthComponent to do its magic, so if
I could put some code in beforeFilter(), it's executed dynamically
(not cached). I have tried each of the following in beforeFilter(),
one by one, but none of them did the trick:

if(!empty($this->data)) clearCache();
if(!empty($this->data)) Configure::write('Cache.check', false);
if(!empty($this->data)) $this->cacheAction = false;

To avoid the "why would you even want to do that" argument I see in
other forums, I'll explain a little further. My edit action is fairly
intensive since it's such a long form with a lot of "stuff" in it and
caching definitely improves the performance. To avoid writing extra
code, the edit action displays the form as well as saves it.

[android-developers] Admob causes wrong text in textview

Hi guys,


i follow how to put admob tutorial from

and use
http://code.google.com/mobile/ads/docs/android/banner_xml.html

but when the ad is loaded, textviews under it become uncorrected display the text (the layout is okay)


Anyone has experiences this kind of thing?

I tried it and it doesn't work at all.

I remember in ListView I can use the "android:cacheColorHint" to
modify the color of the fading edge, but HorizontalScrollView doesn't
have that.

I even extend HorizontalScrollView and override certain functions but
still not working..

[Rails] Re: ActiveModel::Validations in another module?

I seek to create Ruby modules that use ActiveModel::Validations. The
examples I have seen of ActiveModel::Validations all involve including
that module in classes. This is not what I want. I want to involve the
use of ActiveModel::Validations in a module, which I may then choose to
implement as a ruby class (even if after a few more descents via other
modules.)

In short, how do I do get to do the following (or its equivalent) in a
module?

validates :some_attribute, :numericality_of=>{:greater_than => 0,
:allow_blank=>true}
